A life time of gathering,
Years of accumulating
Saving and buying.
Collecting and Keeping.
Paintings and books
Photos and Movie’s
Lounges and furniture
Motor Bikes and Cars
Designer clothes, Italian shoes
Diamonds, pearls,
Crystal, antiques
Now as your journey ends
You have just one room –
Just one cupboard.
What really matters?
What will you take with you?
An investment painting
– Or a drawing your son drew for you one fathers day.
The collection of leather bound books
– Or the family album
The expensive Italian shoes
–or the ones that are most comfortable.
A life time now reduced to just one cupboard.
A few special pieces you’ll pass on to your family.
But what about the things that are special to you –
Letters from friends, trinkets of the past.
Treasures from memories you hold dear.
Others have no knowledge of what these things mean
No one else has knowledge of the memories, the life lived, the loves, the sorrows, the memories entwined in those few procession that fill just one cupboard.

A major lesson in life is not to value the valueless ... to value only that which will not wither with the passing of time. Only that of the heart is eternal.
Eternity is a long time
to be without the internet
Sending Gather a rhyme
Take your love with you
I'll take mine too
If Heaven gets boring
We'll find something to do
Thanks, Bernadette.
